AH 132 - Advanced Medical Terminology3 Credit Hours Lecture Hrs. 3
This course provides students with an in-depth knowledge of medical terminology. The emphasis of the course is understanding medical terminology through the context of anatomy and physiology, diseases, disorders, symptoms, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and pharmacology. Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to utilize medical terminology as a health care professional in various health care settings. The student will be able to communicate the anatomy and structure, the effects of common diseases and disorders, describe diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and describe pharmacology terms related to each body system individually and as a whole in various health care settings.
