This course is an introduction to advanced pre-hospital care with an emphasis on the roles and responsibilities of the advanced provider, his/her well-being, workforce safety, medical/ethics/legal aspects of pre-hospital care in the field, public health, documentation, EMS systems, EMS operations, communication, introduction to rescue awareness, introduction to crime scene awareness, and critical thinking in the pre-hospital setting. Advanced EMS Provider Skills labs and Clinical I will run concurrently with this course. Proficiency skills will be assessed accordingly and recorded in the student’s Master Portfolio.
