ED 210 - Infants and Toddlers Seminar3 Credit Hours Lecture Hrs. 3
This course will examine the application of the theories of child development and research. Course emphasis will be placed on prenatal development and the physical, social, emotional, cognitive, and language development of the child from conception to age three. Observation in infant/toddler environment required. Twenty-five hours of observation required.
All teacher education students participate in clinical experiences which permit them to observe and interact with children or youth in activities which are examples of the teaching/learning process. These experiences are provided in cooperation with the local public schools, daycare centers, and Headstart programs. Students who enroll for these experiences must meet the standards of professionalism and conduct that apply to employees in the schools or centers to which they are assigned.
