AH 124 - CPR1 Credit Hours Lecture Hrs. 1
The Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider course is designed to teach cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills to police, firefighters, and healthcare professionals in a wide variety of settings in and out of the hospital. This course includes adult, child, pediatric CPR, and foreign-body airway obstruction. Barrier devices of various types will be taught. Early recognition and emergency actions in the event of a stroke, angina and/or heart attack along with the proper operation of an automated external defibrillation (AED) is essential. This class consists of actual hands-on practice with adult and child size mannequins so please dress appropriately for floor practice. Successful completion of the written and practical exams is required to obtain a two-year certification from the American Heart Association. Offered As Scheduled Grading Basis Credit/No Credit Mode
