Purpose
The Early Childhood Development Certificate Program consists of 30 hours, half of the curriculum required for the Early Childhood Development Associate in Applied Science. This certificate allows students to serve in a support role in a classroom as aides in early childhood programs, preschools, and Head Start programs.
The full Early Childhood Development Certificate Program is available online with the exception of the required mathematics course and observation hours.
Program Level Outcomes:
- Effectively use knowledge obtained in the education program in their chosen subject areas.
- Create and maintain a learning atmosphere that fosters a supportive learning community.
- Demonstrate knowledge in their content areas.
- Foster and monitor student learning.
- Participate as active members of their school communities; help to foster change when needed.

Total Credit Hours: 30
~ Designates courses on the statewide Core Coursework Transfer Agreement.
This degree program provides students the opportunity to receive credit for their high school EDGE courses (http://careertech.k12.wv.us/edge/edgeCollege.html) as designated by the (E) within the program sequence.
