EM 119 - Advanced Trauma Emergencies3 Credit Hours Prerequisite: Current and valid National Registry EMT-Basic Card Corequisite: EM 117 Lecture Hrs. 3
This course is designed to teach techniques of patient history taking, physical examinations, patient assessment, clinical decision-making, communication, documentation and time management for patients with traumatic injuries. This course will also review principles of anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology of shock and trauma patients and the appropriate treatments, including airway management, at the Advanced EMT level. Extensive lab time will be spent on learning and practicing these skills. Clinical I will also run concurrently with this course. Proficiency skills will be assessed accordingly and recorded in the student’s Master Portfolio. Offered As Scheduled Grading Basis Normal Grading Mode
