EM 117 - Advanced Medical Emergencies I3 Credit Hours Prerequisite: Current and valid National Registry EMT-Basic Card Corequisite: EM 119 Lecture Hrs. 3
This course is designed to teach techniques of patient history taking, physical examinations, patient assessment, clinical decision-making, communication, and documentation in the pre-hospital setting. This course will also review principles of anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, advanced life support monitoring, treatments, and interventions, including airway management, for general medical conditions, at the Advanced EMT level. Extensive lab time will be spent on learning and practicing these skills. Clinical I will also run concurrently with this course. Proficiency skills will be assessed accordingly and recorded in the student’s Master Portfolio. Offered As Scheduled Grading Basis Normal Grading Mode
