MA 201 - Medical Assisting II

Prerequisite: MA 101 and MA 106.
Corequisite: MA 210.

This course will focus on the clinical practices of the Medical Assistant that include, assisting the physician in minor office surgery, such as preoperative and postoperative procedures, guidelines of sterile procedures, surgical asepsis, and set up different surgical trays and skin prep. Additionally, students will learn and identify the surgical instruments used in minor office surgery, administration of oral and parenteral medication, including calculation of adult and children’s dosage.
